grants & prizes

The GSA sponsors and supports a number of special awards, ranging from book and essay prizes to conference travel grants to participation in the prestigious Berlin Program for Advanced German and European Studies.

Book/Article/Essay prizes

  • Please consult the the links on the left for detailed information about each GSA Prize, including rules, submission information and relevant contacts. If you don't find the information you're looking for there, email prizes@thegsa.org with your question(s).
  • There is no set limit on how many GSA book prizes an individual title may be considered for; one book may be nominated for as many GSA prizes as it is eligible.

Conference travel support

  • If you are seeking information beyond what is posted to our website about the GSA Conference Community Fund, please email GSA Treasurer Professor David Meola.
