The German Studies Association and the GSA’s Committee on Institutional Transformation and Social Justice condemn Russia's attack on the sovereign nation of Ukraine. This action is in violation of multiple international treaties that the Russian government itself has signed. We deplore the fabricated historical distortions by President Putin and their use to justify Russia's illegal expansion. We stand in solidarity with all those in Ukraine and the rest of the world in opposing this war, and particularly with the people in Russia protesting this invasion at considerable risk to themselves. And we stand in solidarity with any and all GSA members who are personally affected by this violence.
